HBO Home Entertainment will bring Mildred Pierce to Blu-ray and DVD next January. In an Emmy Award-winning performance, Kate Winslet (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) stars in the title role, a divorced housewife trying to successfully navigate through various personal and professional struggles against the backdrop of Los Angeles during the Depression.
Chief among those struggles: balancing her fraught relationships with her eldest daughter Veda (played by both Morgan Turner – Invincible – and Evan Rachel Wood – The Conspirator) and her new lover Monty Beragon (Emmy Award-winner Guy Pierce, L.A. Confidential) alongside the burgeoning success of her restaurant business.
Directed by Academy Award-nominee Todd Haynes (Velvet Goldmine), Mildred Pierce boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Mare Winningham (Brothers), Hope Davis (Synecdoche, New York), James LeGros (Zodiac), and Brían F. O’Byrne (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead).
