Lightning McQueen and Mater return in Cars 2, coming out exclusively on Disney 3D Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray and DVD on 21 November 2011. This animated adventure is the follow-up the 2006 Golden Globe award winner, Cars. It is directed by John Lasseter and includes Sir Michael Caine in his Pixar début, playing top British spy Finn McMissile who mistakes Mater for an undercover American agent, thinking his disguise is ingenious.
Cars 2 marks the 25th anniversary of Pixar Animation Studios and is said to feature all of the comedy and endearing qualities of the original. Fans of Cars will no doubt be waiting eagerly for this release, playing Partypoker and watching other movies until they can finally get their hands on the sequel to the charming and humourous Cars. Owen Wilson plays hotshot race car Lightning McQueen and he is joined by some other big names. Lightning McQueen’s best friend Mater is voiced by Larry the Cable Guy, and Emily Mortimer voices Holley Shiftwell, a rookie field spy who has learnt every trick in the book.
As well as a fantastic adventure, Cars 2 includes some great bonus features that includes an interesting commentary from award-winning director John Lasseter. There is also an exclusive interactive tour map, that allows users to navigate through nine separate locations, including those that have been featured in the film. Cars 2 is the most international of all Pixar films to date and viewers are given a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the Pixar artists and filmmakers on their journey around the globe looking for inspiration. As well as this, it is the first Pixar movie to be released in Blu-Ray 3D, something that should prove to be rather spectacular.
