ABC’s Revenge begins its fourth season on September 28th, so now is the perfect time to refresh are memories as to the events of last season in this twisty tale of scandal and retribution in the Hamptons. After getting slightly sidetracked during the second season, rich girl Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) has now returned with renewed focus, to the job of getting revenge against the Grayson’s (and their large circle of associates) for what they did to her father so many years ago. To her, the ultimate revenge begins with marrying Daniel Grayson (Joshua Bowman), the heir to the Grayson throne, and tearing the family apart from the inside. When Emily ends up shot and left for dead on her wedding day, obviously, the plan undergoes some changes.
At the same time, Jack Porter (Nick Wechsler) Emily’s down-to-earth childhood friend, meets and begins dating, Margaux LeMarchal (Karine Vanasse), Daniel’s glamorous business partner. Meanwhile, Emily’s arch enemy Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe), has her hands full; sparks fly between Nolan (Gabriel Mann) and her illegitimate son, Patrick (Justin Hartley) as her marriage to Conrad (Henry Czerny) comes to an end (again). No worries though, Victoria always finds someone to keep her warm! In the midst of all this, Emily continues to uncover evidence that could prove—once and for all—that Conrad was the mastermind behind the frame up of her father.
The third season of Revenge really gets back to the twists and backstabbing—call it Dynasty for the 21st century—that made the show such a guilty pleasure during its inaugural season. The secrets, lies, twists and turns are abundant. Even the apparently likable characters get all devious. Delicious! Even better, the season ender is a crazy shocker that left fans wanting more.
The five disc DVD release is similar to previous sets. We get 14 deleted scenes, a blooper reel, and an audio commentary on the season finale. Table for Five at the Stowaway presents Henry Czerny (Conrad), Nick Wechsler (Jack), Gabriel Mann (Nolan), Barry Sloane (Aiden), and Joshua Bowman (Daniel) discussing their characters, life on the set and the process of saying goodbye to previous cast mates.
