Impressed with the way Adams has adapted to his environment and for his uncanny rapport with animals, Nakoma and Jack come to appreciate Adam’s harmonious existence with nature. Unfortunately, as Adams protected the wildlife he grew to cherish, he still needed to be watchful for bounty hunters, who were always looking to collect the price on his head.
The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams featured Dan Haggerty as James “Grizzly” Adams, a character loosely based on a 19th century woodsman and animal trapper who gained some notoriety for his exploits. The show, which ran on the NBC Television Network for two seasons beginning in 1977, also features an impressive list of classic TV guest stars including Slim Pickens, Ken Berry and Norman Fell.
